About Get Image Info
Get Image Info is an independent website focused on practical image utilities: metadata analysis, compression, and resizing. The goal is simple: provide fast tools and clear explanations so users can understand and prepare images with confidence.
What we build
We maintain three core tools:
- Image Analyzer: Reads metadata and technical image details, including EXIF, XMP, IPTC, ICC profiles, file properties, and format-specific information.
- Image Compressor: Reduces file size while keeping the original format, with user-controlled quality.
- Image Resizer: Resizes images to target dimensions with optional aspect ratio locking.
How we test and review updates
Before publishing changes, we manually test common user workflows on desktop and mobile browsers. Typical checks include:
- Uploading files from different cameras, phones, and editors
- Verifying output dimensions, file sizes, and format preservation
- Checking that UI labels and help text match actual behavior
- Reviewing pages for broken links, unclear wording, and accessibility basics
When we identify ambiguous wording or behavior that can confuse users, we update the page copy and tool hints so expectations remain accurate.
Data handling and privacy approach
We keep processing behavior explicit on every tool page:
- Analyzer: File is uploaded for server-side metadata extraction, then deleted immediately after processing.
- Compressor and Resizer: Processing runs in the browser; files are not uploaded.
We avoid storing image content and avoid collecting unnecessary user data. Full details are on our Privacy Policy.
Editorial standards for site content
Our documentation and guides follow practical standards:
- Explain terms in plain language first, technical details second
- Prefer actionable examples over generic marketing copy
- State limitations clearly (format support, browser differences, metadata availability)
- Update outdated guidance when tool behavior changes
If a page is unclear or inaccurate, we treat that as a quality bug and revise it.
How this site is supported
Get Image Info is free to use. We may show advertising to support hosting and ongoing maintenance. Ads are intended to support the service, not block core functionality.
